Some logs have additional information on them, and others do not. Section IX only requires continuity verification in the process. Even if you have this information on the continuity log you still have to produce the original qualification papers. Having additional information can and I stress can help you as long as everyone looking at the logs can follow them. If you have a lot of welders qualified in several process it can make things easier.
However I have seen really neat logs that had to have the spreadsheet author to explain everything.
If someone reasonably familiar with continuity logs cannot look at the log and figure it out in less than a minute, you are collecting too much information and it is poorly organized.
