I have a small spud, made by Crescent Tools.  The spike is narrower though.

That appears to be a 10" Spud that someone has had turned down and shortened. It would be easy to do.

Yea that's a home brew version in the picture. I am pretty sure you can pick one up at your local Lowes store

The klin is a 12" (whatever the standard is) and the little one is a 8" that I did a cut and paste with.
I worked with a guy that had a small spud and I tried to buy it from him but he wouldn’t sell it and I have looked around some I just haven’t been able to find one. I am just wondering if they are available on the commercial market and if they are what they are going for

Here is another pic that shows it better

I buy the GOOD ones from Copperstate Nut & Bolt.

Two of my local welding suppliers have some of the cheap ones for about $20-25.  I think the good ones at Copperstate are about $60.

I use the cheap ones when doing inspections.  I don't have to really depend on it for a lot and if I lose it I don't cry about it as much.

Have a Great Day,  Brent

i have had a few people ask me to make them one of these little spuds but when i add time turning the stock welding and cost of the wrench i am at $75 and if these things are in production somewhere i wouldn't expect them to be much over $35

if you are getting them for $10 please send me a link to where i can get them

Hey Griz,

Would welding a wrench-head to a bull pin be any quicker or easier?

Cheers,
jb

Klein , Williams ,& Armstrong all make small SPUD CRESCENT Wrenches.
Parent - By grizzzly (**) Date 10-26-2011 00:56
their small is 10" or 12" i am looking for 6" or 8"
the kline in the picture is a 10"

and the reason for not cutting a regular spud is that the tip on a normal spud gets down to about 3/8" the small one i made will fit into a 1.8" hole
