How do you apply the allowable fillet weld undersize criteria (1/16" for 10% of weld length) when measuring intermittent fillet welds? Do you apply it to each individual fillet or the total fillet weld lengths summed up for that weld detail?

I would apply it to each individual weld.

As Doug said

I apply it to each fillet weld individually whether 3" or 100"

Thanks for the timely responses.  That's what I've always done because it makes sense but, when asked by a welder I couldn't point to Code requirement.

It is 10% of weld length.
Weld is not plural,

Take care

You could point out Table 6 (D1.1: 2006)to your welder.

Table 6 (6) Reads: "The size of a fillet weld in any continuous weld may be less than the specified nominal size without correction by the following amounts."

Flamin, it's probably a good idea to put the Code and date of said code in your comment.  Keeps things clear for the readers.

Absolutely.

In D1.1(2010) that would be Table 6.1(6).
