I'm getting the Lincoln power Mig 300 but don't have the $$$ available to get the spool gun or push pull gun quite yet.
Any one have experience with the aluminum feeder kit available for the regular push gun ??? need to weld 1/8th & 3/16th " aluminum plates. how well would it work ??

Steve,
What grade of Aluminum wire are you planning to use? There is a shop up the road that has one of those machines and they use a lot of 4043 in a spool gun, but claim they didn't need the spool gun because it ran fine right out of their machine and through the liner. I figure if 4043 runs OK then 5356 should not give any feed problems. I believe they are using .045 dia. wire, but I'm not for sure about the size.

I have a PowerMig 300 and have ran 3/64 aluminum with the .045 drive rolls that came with the machine. It worked just fine. My Magnum gun is 12ft long. Im going to buy a 10ft 400 amp gun to use for aluminum only and the aluminum drive roll kit when i get another big aluminum job. I love the pulse on pulse mode, u can weld aluminum out of position easily.
Be sure ur ground cable is at least 2/0 on ur machine because of the pulsing feature. A friend bought a Miller INVISION 354MP and now he wishes he would of bought a PowerMig 300 at half the price.
