That might be from a cannon "grape Shot".  Put a bag of musket balls into a cannon and BOOM, ya got a giant anti-personnel weapon.  The deformation would be consistent with that scenario.

yes that was one of the options i came across gonna measure it monday, another option was a kentucky or a PA rifle

I'd have to go with a musket ball that hit something as well. Deformation from a 'grape shot' is usually not flat, and is usually multisided from the multitude of other lead balls in the shot pack.
