Probably better tasting than our Javelina then. Hogs raised domestically can have two litters per year with no problems and if taken care of properly will raise 8-14 per litter. I've seen litters as large as low 20's but several died the first couple of days. When if FFA my sows would consistently raise 10-12 per litter. Just as rabbits or house/barn cats can multiply quickly, so can pigs.

Hello Duane, I did a little bit of work out of Abilene a few years back and two of my sons did a lot of work there. I found that there is a considerable difference in how Texas and Washington manage their game and wildlife. The wind tower work that we were doing was all on private property and as I was told, the animals (wildlife, domestic, etc. ) on that property were owned by the landowners. If you wanted to hunt you contracted to do so and paid for the priviledge. Ferral hogs on the other hand, were as you said, fair game for anyone and looked upon favorably by both the state and the landowners for disposal by any means. Got to know a number of the locals and spoke with them about hunting and such. They were suprised to hear of how a license and tag from the state (in Washington) allowed for the taking of a lot of different sorts of game from both state and private property based on seasons, unit locations, public access, and private access with permission. I have only hunted in Washington and Oregon, so I am not saavy to the practices of many of the other states, there does seem to be quite a large range of differences though. Beautiful animals, what type of deer? I am unable to determine that from the pictures as to scale and markings. Best regards, Allan
