As a matter of fact, you have to buy ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessels Code every three years (every three years a new edition is published), to say nothing of the two Addenda published twice a year.

I hope that what Duke was trying to say is that D1.1 is not nearly as expensive as this C206, because at the same rate as the C206 then D1.1 would be very expensive.
But, let's look further. How much are some of the AWS materials with the same number of pages as the C206? D1.3, for 98 pages= $90 (less than a $1 per page). D1.4, for 84 pages= $87 (just over $1 per page), D1.6, for 292 pages= $180 (less than $1 per page).
So, AWS materials are cheaper across the board than the publication in question.
Lastly, at those rates, I would join AWS as a sustaining company and get the entire code library at a considerable discount. OOHH, I did. And as long as I stay current I get all the updates and new editions when they become available.
