DEAR EXPERTS,
   As per AWS D1.1,
       
        1.  PIPES LESS THAN 60 DIA AND 3MM HOW TO QUALIFY?

3MM is about 0.118 inches

The minimum base metal thickness for the D1.1 code is 0.125

This fact makes it a possibility that your "Engineer" might want to explore a different specification.

Are you looking for procedure qualification?  or performance qualification or both?

This question needs to be presented to your responsible engineer.

I think we may have some difficulty understanding each other so far... But not a problem.

Tell us a little more about the pipes and their intended use.

Are these pipes structural, or will they be carrying something?
