Sort of a question for Al related to his response (assuming I read it correctly)
Clause 4.6 (4) directs CJP of tubular connections to Clause 9.15 (This removes you from clause 4)
I think our production WPS is stated as a T-joint welded from one side with no backing. So think T, K, & Y qualification in tubular.
9.15 (4) says: T-, Y-, K-connections without backing welded
from one side only (see 9.15.4).
This is where your long and improbable journey begins...… You may begin to hate me now.
9.15.4 T-, Y-, or K-Connections without Backing
Welded from One Side Only. When qualification is
required, a WPS for T-, Y-, or K-connections without
backing welded from one side only shall require the
following:
9.15.4.1 WPSs without Prequalified Status. For a
WPS whose essential variables are outside the prequalified
range, qualification for CJP tubular groove welds
shall require the following:
(1) Qualification in conformance with Figure 9.25 for
pipes with outside diameters greater than or equal to 4 in
[100 mm] or Figure 9.25
But Lar,,,, This is a 1G rotated thing-a-ma-bob right ?
Yes, yes it is.... But All I see here is 6GR...……. I don't wanna see it... But I see it.
