Dear Sir or Madam,

What is filler Material ID Charts?
Where can I get it?

It is a requirement in AC7110/5.
(para. 4.6.5 Filler Material ID Charts
Are filler material identification charts clearly posted in the shop?)

I'm not familiar with AC7110/5. Perhaps you can provide more information about the document you are referencing, such as the full title, the organization that publishes it, etc.

I would assume the filler metal reference chart would identify the filler metals being used by a facility. Perhaps it is a table that indicates the proper filler metal to be used to join various base metals. The table could be a grid listing the base metals along the top and side margins with the appropriate filler metals within the grid.

Again, I am not familar with the document you are referencing.

Good luck - Al

It is published by PRI.
PRI, Performance Review Institute, an affiliate of SAE.
The document I noted, is an AUDIT CRITERIA for NADCAP.
Information in this document is as follows.

Thanks for getting back with the background information.

Aerospace manufactures may use one of several methods to identify their filler metals. Most of us are familiar with the "flag tag" and impression stamping methods. However, some companies use a paint striping system where one, two, or sometimes three different colored paint strips on one end of the filler metal rods are used to differentiate between filler metals of different composition. This system is especially useful for small diameter filler metal rods that are too small to flag tag or imprint with the filler metal classifiaction numbers. A wall chart is used to "translate" the paint stripping into AMS filler metal classification numbers. The AMS material specifications are available from the Society of Automotive Engineers.

I hope this helps.

Best regards - Al

Thanks!
We have a "flag tag" on every filler rod, now.
I think we don't need a wall chart.
