Shooting AND bending I suppose is not so unusual. Certainly more thorough. Not sure its necessary. However, tensile testing performance quals I beleive is quite unusual, and perhaps even irrelevent. I mean, if you've shot it and its clean, and bent it and it proves ductile, anything a tensile test would reveal wouldn't be dependent upon a welders ability but more upon the viability of the BM WM choice and the WPS regime.
