When determining the maximum convexity of fillet welds, the code states in part, "except for outside welds at corner joints". A corner joint would use a fillet weld and if the "other" side is welded, that would really be a butt joint.
Is this reference to the butt weld of the other side or possibly the ends?
Can some one explain what is meant by the term "outside welds"?

look at fig. 16 it has pictures of corner joints (near the bottom of the figure - outside corner= I would think of like the outside of a box
