The new AISC standard adds some books to the "Fabricator should also have the following references readily availible" list, one of them is the  AWS Welding Quality Assurance Guideline for Fabricators (WQAG). I searched the AWS bookstore and got nothing. Can someone tell me where I can find the guideline?

That seems to be what AISC does best. Add crap to the list of requirements. What a monster they're creating. Hope the coming revisions to the evaluation process improves the situation.

I'm trying to find this document as well and can't find it.  Has anyone heard of this WQAG?
Also since it's in the list of references that "should" be maintained, doesn't that mean it's not required just suggested?

Gentlemen,
Here are a couple of links. Hope they help.

Also, Chris has a point that could be valid. While not all entities utilize the words "should" and "shall" like AWS does, as a general rule "should" is a recomendation while "shall" is a requirement.  FWIW

hogan,
I can not get that to open up anything. But as I have stated before, I am not the most computer literate fellow on this forum.

Is it just me?

John,
I edited the link, but you will still need to have Adobe reader on your computer to view the file because it is a pdf. file.

"The file is damaged and could not be repaired" Is the message I recieved after I downloaded adobe reader.

Maybe it is just me. LOL

jrw159,
I opened the file very easily. It's not damaged. I suggest going to "up-dates" for Adobe Acrobat Reader and getting Adobe Acrobat 8.0 that should open any pdf file. Hope that helps you out John.
Respectfully, Jeffrey S. Grady
