Degree for students seeking a quality welding education. The facility offers a low student-to- instructor ratio, with a maximum of 10 students per instructor. Instructors are CWI and CWE qualified and have over fifty years of combined high-level experience. Students receive over 1600 hours of hands-ontraining when completing the two year program. Courses are offered in structural and high pressure piping. Our nine welding classes consist of basic oxyacetylene, brazing, torch cutting / plasma cutting and SMAW in our 1st course and the other courses advance into the Advanced SMAW, pipe welding, GMAW, GTAW, structural fabrication, blueprint reading, rigging, and metallurgy. In 1936, the vocational program was initiated. Lee College now offers some daytime, but mostly evening classes for credit in welding, welding inspection, pipefitting, millwright, machining, instrumentation and electrical. Lee College also awards NCCER certification to meet industry and contractors’ needs.
